It’s nearly a week since John Howard entered the political fray with two op-eds about the Howard legacy. Yet there’s barely been a stirt – from what I have seen, only Janet Albrechtsen has said much about it, and John Hewson’s writing has been getting more attention.
What is it with teh Left and not being rabid Howard-haters who react with rage and violent protest every time he opens his mouth? Why don’t we care about JWH any more?

It is odd, isn’t it? I haven’t even read the op-eds in question.
Perhaps there is just simply nothing that Howard can say that is worthwhile seriously considering. All he’s done since losing the election AND Bennelong (hahaha) is promote himself and try to whitewash his legacy, while accepting fruit bowls from American think-tanks [sic] and quiver to the point of ejaculation while accepting doubtful medals from some hardly-missed former American President.
Now Howard is not in office, he has no practical impact on my life, and I’m perfectly happy about that. I can’t even summon up the energy to care about him these days.
I think it’s a big collective sigh of relief. Like how you’d feel after 11 years of constipation and finally the laxatives kick in.
I agree with Legal Eagle, he’s not worth hating anymore. There are so many other rightards to hate.
While neither of them lead a political party any more, Hewson, unlike Howard, is a bit of an intellectual.
I think Ross has it.
Seriously, not having Howard as PM is like crack for me.
