Terry – unfortunately you’re on the money. Even more unfortunately, the damage has been done and will take many years to undo. Religious extremism in Australia – indeed, globally – will get worse before it gets better.

Do not expect any reason or respite under Labor. Rudd has also pitched his tent in the camp of the religious moderates, which is the same illness though slightly less advanced.
